Readying for game five

Egypt held their second official training on Monday at Cairo Stadium in preparation for their two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and Sierra Leone on 21 and 25 March, respectively. The Pharaohs will play Ethiopia in Morocco and Sierra Leone at home.

Under Hossam Hassan, Egypt top Group A with 10 points after four matches with six matches remaining. Guinea-Bissau are second with six points. Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone have five points each, Ethiopia three and Djibouti one point. The top teams from the nine groups qualify automatically.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and Egyptian Football Association President Hani Abu Rida and the EFA board had attended Egypt’s first training session.
