"To all those present in the area marked as al-Salatin, al-Karama, and al-Awda, this is an early warning before a strike... For your safety, head south toward the known shelters immediately," Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X, claiming that Palestinian fighters were active in the area.
Israel has repeatedly justified its targeting of civilian areas by claiming, without providing evidence, that Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups are present there. However, most of the casualties in Israel’s assault are innocent women and children.
The order came as Gaza's civil defence agency announced that Israeli strikes had killed at least 11 people amid Israel's renewed assault on the Palestinian territory for a fourth day.
Civil defence spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP three people were killed in pre-dawn strikes. Eight more were killed during daytime, six of them in Gaza City and two in Abassan in the south.
Earlier on Thursday, Israel's military announced it had resumed ground operations in Rafah, in southern Gaza, while continuing ground operations in northern and central Gaza.
On Thursday, the Palestinian health ministry reported that at least 710 people had been killed and over 900 injured since Israel resumed its war on Gaza on Tuesday. Health Ministry spokesperson Khalil al-Daqran added that 70 percent of the casualties were women and children.
