
Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in New Administrative Capital
The assault, attributed to the Islamic State - a jihadist group - took place in the village of Fambita during Friday prayers.
In a statement, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced all attacks on places of worship and sacred sites, offering condolences to the victims’ families and expressing solidarity with the government and people of Niger.
Cairo also reaffirmed its full support for Niger’s efforts to combat terrorism and restore security and stability.
In response to the attack, Niger declared three days of national mourning.
