Border guards foil attempts of smuggling weapons, narcotics into Egypt
The Egyptian Border Guard Forces have intercepted multiple attempts to smuggle weapons, ammunition, and large quantities of drugs, including hashish, hydro, and narcotic pills, into the country.
A statement by the Egyptian military spokesman said Monday that several smugglers have been arrested during security and inspection operations at ferries, tunnels, and border crossings nationwide.
The seized items have been handed over to legal authorities.
These operations have been conducted in cooperation with the main branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces, its mobilization formations, and all security agencies.
The statement added that the operations are part of the Armed Forces’ efforts to secure and protect the country’s borders in various strategic directions.
