El-Sisi reaffirms Egypt support of Somalia counterterrorism efforts
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed in a phone call on Tuesday with his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Egypt's commitment to supporting the Somali government and national army in combating terrorism using all possible means, including intellectual efforts, social development, and military force.

According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi first inquired about Mohamud's health, affirming Egypt's full solidarity with the Somali president and people.
The Somali president's motorcade has recently been attacked outside the presidential palace in the capital Mogadishu.
Furthermore, the Egyptian president stressed that Egypt is keen on expanding cooperation with Somalia in various fields.
In return, Mohamud said he was grateful to El-Sisi for the gesture and commended Egypt's support for his country.
In addition, he reaffirmed Somalia's commitment to joint action with Egypt in various fields to achieve the aspirations of both peoples.
