In a statement, the SIS, a government agency which reports directly to the Egyptian Presidency, affirmed that these platforms have long been engaged in systematic campaigns of lies against the country since Egyptians ousted the terrorist-designated Muslim Brotherhood group from power in 2013.
Reports on social media alleged that Egyptian military cargo planes were operating an air bridge to transport weapons from Sinai to Israel before Tel Aviv resumed its genocidal war on Gaza and violated the ceasefire agreement last week.
However, these social media reports provided no evidence to support these claims.
"Resorting to such extreme falsehoods reflects an escalating state of pathological detachment from reality and a chronic addiction to deception — traits that have become intrinsic and consistent in these websites and outlets," the SIS added.
"Such detachment from reality and addiction to lying are what lead these platforms to a state of temporary or permanent blindness, preventing them from recognizing Egypt’s clear and unwavering stance since the beginning of the brutal Israeli aggression against Gaza,” the statement noted.
Moreover, the statement highlighted that Egypt has undertaken all necessary measures to support the Palestinian people, utilizing all its resources with complete transparency to help them survive the catastrophic consequences of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
The SIS also emphasized that these outlets’ misinformation aims to obscure the fact that Egypt has played a leading role since the beginning of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza.
Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on 7 October 2023, Cairo has been rallying strong Arab and international opposition against all attempts meant to liquidate the Palestinian cause through the forced displacement of Palestinians from their historical homeland.
This firm stance has made Egypt the target of numerous campaigns by officials and media outlets related to the Israeli occupying state, trying to defame its unwavering position or Armed Forces, SIS noted.
The SIS also said Egypt has provided over 75 percent of the aid delivered to Gaza, mobilized its medical resources to treat injured Palestinians, and engaged in arduous negotiations from day one to bring an end to the Israeli aggression.
Furthermore, the SIS affirmed that Egypt remains committed to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and has consistently worked to bridge internal Palestinian divisions.
“Egypt is a nation fully devoted to defending truth and justice and maintains a firm rejection of aggression and occupation, a stance evident in its decades-long sacrifices to uphold its pan-Arab and moral commitments,” the statement concluded.
