Egypt, Turkey, Saudi FMs stress consolidating Gaza ceasefire

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty stressed the need to consolidate the ceasefire deal in Gaza and ensure the implementation of its three phases during phone calls with Turkish FM Hakan Fidan and Saudi FM Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud on Thursday.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty discussed with both ministers the Egyptian-Qatari efforts to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire deal and ongoing coordination with the US.

He also underscored the need to guarantee the release of captives and detainees and the entry of humanitarian, medical, and shelter aid into Gaza.  

The calls also touched on Arab and Islamic countries' efforts to achieve the outcomes of Cairo's recent extraordinary Arab summit and Arab-Islamic ministerial meeting on Gaza in collaboration with international parties

Furthermore, the ministers explored ways to mobilise support for the Arab-Islamic plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.  

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart reviewed regional crises in the Red Sea, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa.

They agreed on the importance of coordination to de-escalate regional tensions and prevent further instability in the Middle East.
