UPDATED: Marwan Pablo releases new tracks during Eid Al-Fitr

Egyptian rapper Marwan Pablo has released three new tracks — Bono, Ghanima, Aura, and Lemaza — between 31 March and 3 April.

All four songs have gained traction on YouTube in Egypt and have been well-received across the Arab world, with listeners praising Pablo’s lyrical approach and delivery.

Lyrics of the tracks explore themes of frustration and confusion as well as resilience, self-assurance, and perseverance, reinforcing Pablo’s position as a key figure in Egyptian rap.

The accompanying music videos, directed by Abanoub Ramsis and shot by cinematographer Kamal Samy, use black-and-white and sepia tones underscoring the songs' dramatic tone tinted with a sense of reflection. 

The first track is Bono, released on 31 March, has amassed over 1.1 million views and reached "#3 on Trending for music" in Egypt.

The lyrics focus on Pablo’s confidence and determination, with lines addressing detractors and emphasizing the importance of authenticity over chasing trends.

While refusing to rely on external validation, Pablo contrasts himself with those who seek fame through superficial means like trends or advertising. 


On 1 April Pablo released Ghanima, a song which garnered more than one million views and reached "#4 on Trending for music" in Egypt - before the rapper removed it from his YouTube channel.

The song continues in a similar vein, with Pablo presenting himself as unfazed by criticism.

"I annoy them by being deaf..." the lyrics say as he assures that he rises above everyone's negativity, portraying himself as unbeatable and determined to continue on his path without compromise.

The most recent release, Aura, arrived on 2 April and has surpassed 600,000 views,climbing to "#4 on Trending for music" on YouTube in Egypt.

In it, Pablo addresses his growing stature in the rap scene, acknowledging external pressures but maintaining his composure.

"They are upset that I am fresh... Every time my name comes up, they get frustrated," Pablo asserts his dominance in the rap scene despite the fact that due to his fame and power, people plot against him.

The latest track is Lemaza, released on 3 April.

The lyrics reflect a sense of frustration and confusion, questioning the events that happen in Pablo's life and relationships.

Despite all that, he rapper talks about moving forward even if he carries regret and sadness with him. 

Amassing almost half a million view, the track has reached "#9 on Trending for music," in Egypt.

 

These new releases come as Alexandria-born rapper prepares for his upcoming concert on 10 April at AUC Tahrir Square. 

His high dynamism in Egypt's rap scene recently saw release of two 5-track EPs.

7OB&KASHAT, an EP in which he collaborated with Abyusif was released in Nov 2024, while Pablo's experimental EP titled PRJKTBLUBEAM, saw light in mid-2024. 

Those came shortly after Pablo's album The Last Piece of Art, released in December 2023.
