During a phone call, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister outlined ongoing US-led mediation efforts to end the crisis in his country and the outcomes of two rounds of indirect negotiations held in Saudi Arabia earlier this year.
The top diplomats also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in technical, economic, and trade sectors.

In February 2025, Riyadh hosted US-mediated talks between Russia and Ukraine to explore avenues for de-escalation and a negotiated settlement to the ongoing conflict.
These discussions marked the first high-level engagement between US and Russian officials since the onset of the war in 2022.
