According to a statement by the military spokesman, Saqr made these remarks during his meeting with French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu and his accompanying delegation.
The delegation and French President Emmanuel Macron are currently in a high-level, three-day visit to Egypt.
During their meeting, Saqr expressed his appreciation for the long-standing military cooperation between Egypt and France.
The statement said both sides discussed several issues of mutual interest, including ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two nations and the latest developments on the regional and international fronts.
For his part, Minister Lecornu expressed pride in Egypt's enduring partnership and fruitful cooperation with France, particularly in the military sector.
He also affirmed the alignment of Cairo and Paris' perspectives on various issues contributing to regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa, and senior military officials from both countries.
