Tahrir CultureFest 2025 (10-12 April) 

The AUC annual festival’s second edition will include dance performances and concerts, book talks, panel discussions, exhibitions, a bazaar, children’s activities, Nile kayaking, a food fair and many more activities.

Ewart Memorial Hall

Thurs 10, 6.30-7.30pm: Join a CaPop for an unforgettable musical experience, this dynamic Egyptian semi-a cappella choir transforms popular music with captivating performances inspired by a blend of cultural traditions.

Fri 11, 2-3pm: A celebration of global dance and culture, the Cairo American College Varsity Dance Team as they take you on a vibrant journey across the globe with Saudade and Passport to the World, two performances showcasing cultural diversity through dance. 

Sat 12, 8-10pm: Join Cairo Steps band for a captivating performance, led by oud player Bassem Darwish, where traditional Egyptian rhythms blend with modern jazz, classical music and contemporary sounds.

Outdoor Stage

Thurs 10, 8-9pm: Marwan Pablo’s live concert, enjoy a night of contemporary Egyptian rap music.

Fri 11, 5pm: In collaboration with the Embassy of India and Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, this concert will showcase mesmerizing classical Indian dance Kathak and vibrant Bollywood dance bringing the rich cultural heritage of India to life. 

Fri 11, 8-9pm: Experience a unique cross-cultural collaboration as two singer-songwriters from North and Eastern Africa, Nadya Shanab (Egypt) and Fadhilee Itulya (Kenya), join forces for an extraordinary performance.

Sat 12, 1.30-2.30pm: "Nostalgic Notes of Cairo" musical performance will feature students from the Centre for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) and the Arabic Language Intensive Programme (ALIN) at AUC. 

Sat 12, 3-4pm: International dance performance by the AUC students. 

Sat 12, 4 - 4.30pm: Experience the elegance and energy of Japanese dance. This performance brings the traditions of Japan to the heart of Cairo, blending classical grace with contemporary expression.

Sat 12, 6-7pm: Enjoy the resilient voices of the Salute to Gaza Choir, a moving musical initiative by the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music.
