Pyramids FC lost the second leg of the quarter-finals in Meknes 2-0 on Tuesday, but they advanced due to their impressive 4-1 win in the first leg in Cairo one week earlier.

The Egyptian side was forced to play the second leg without classy wingers Ibrahim Adel and Ramadan Sobhi as well as solid midfielder Blate Toure, all of whom were injured during the last training session due to the poor pitch conditions.

FAR striker Youssef El-Fahli gave the hosts an early lead in the 8th minute, while his teammate Jol Beya added a second goal with eight minutes remaining.

They pressed forward in the final minutes to try and score a third goal but were unable to find the qualification goal.

Pyramids FC will face the winner of the match between Orlando Pirates of Algeria and MC Alger in the semi-finals.

The South African side won the first leg away from home in Algeria 1-0.
