Cairo giants Zamalek will look to recover from recent setbacks when they face Haras El-Hodoud in the second matchday of the Egyptian Premier League’s playoff stage on Sunday.

CAF Confederation Cup title holders Zamalek were eliminated from the semifinals of the continental tournament last week after suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat to  South African side Stellenbosch.

The White Knights will be eager to return to winning ways when they visit Haras El-Hodoud at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium on Sunday.

Zamalek sit third in the playoff stage standings with 35 points, four points behind second-placed Ahly.

Leaders and title contenders Pyramids FC top the table with 43 points.

Haras El-Hodoud are fighting relegation, occupying the bottom spot with 22 points.

A victory over El-Hodoud could boost Zamalek's chances of securing a spot in next season's CAF Champions League, instead of their usual participation in the Confederation Cup in recent years.
