FM Abdelatty's visit underscores both nations' shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and addressing regional challenges and pressing issues of mutual concern, a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs read.
The visit precedes the Arab Summit scheduled for 17 May in Iraq.
Algeria skipped the Extraordinary Arab Summit on Gaza held in Cairo on 4 March, which approved a $53 billion plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents.
According to the statement, Egypt’s top diplomat, who marks his first visit to the North African nation since his appointment in July 2024, is expected to meet with several high-ranking Algerian officials.
Abdelatty's visit comes six months after Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited Egypt and met with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
Tebboune's visit focused on discussing regional tensions, particularly in Gaza, Libya, and Sudan, along with cooperation between the two nations.
