The match marks the sixth consecutive semi-final appearance for Ahly in Africa’s premier club competition.

“We are facing a strong opponent on their home ground and in front of their fans; the competition has been intense and balanced. Our goal remains clear—reaching the final.”  Koller told reporters at a pre-match press conference.

Koller expressed confidence in his players, noting their experience in high-stakes matches and prior visits to South Africa.

“Our team understands the importance of this stage. The players are focused and carry a strong sense of responsibility to bring joy to our fans,” he added.

Goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy dismissed suggestions of any mental hurdle facing Sundowns, a team that has eliminated Ahly in previous tournament editions.

“There is no psychological barrier. All teams know how difficult it is to face Ahly. We’re not new to playing in South Africa. The players are motivated to make history and win a third straight title,”  El Shenawy said.

The return leg is scheduled for next Friday at Cairo International Stadium.
