Held at the American University in Cairo’s Greek Campus, the event drew thousands of attendees, including young Egyptian creators, engineers, artists, and entrepreneurs. Since its launch in 2015, Maker Faire Cairo has grown into one of the largest Do-It-Yourself (DIY) festivals in the Middle East and North Africa.
Organized by San3a Tech in partnership with the American Center Cairo (ACC), this year’s edition featured more than 50 workshops, 15 exhibitions, eight live demonstrations, and a knowledge hub offering interactive talks and hands-on sessions.
Topics ranged from robotics and woodworking to sustainable design and digital fabrication.
“This year’s creators, artists, and engineers at Maker Faire are truly inspiring,” said US Embassy spokesperson Gina Cabrera. “By coming together and sharing ideas, we can create a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future for both the United States and Egypt.”

More than 2,000 participants from across Egypt and abroad took part in the faire, reflecting the event’s growing influence and reach.
Since its origins at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2003, Maker Faire has evolved into a global movement, encouraging innovation and critical thinking among youth.
The US Embassy underscored its continued commitment to supporting initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, STEM education, and cultural exchange.
Through platforms like Maker Faire Cairo, the American Center Cairo aims to empower young Egyptians to engage with science, technology, and the arts — equipping them with the tools to drive positive change in their communities.
