Since the holiday falls on a Thursday, the CBE stated that the holiday will include the weekend (Friday and Saturday), with work resuming on Sunday (4 May).
On Sunday, the government designated Labour Day, which falls on Thursday, 1 May, an official paid holiday for employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administrative units, public sector companies, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector.
Labour Day, recognised globally as International Workers’ Day, is celebrated each year on 1 May to acknowledge the efforts and accomplishments of workers worldwide.
