During his call with Jaishankar, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of exercising restraint and avoiding escalation to maintain stability in the South Asia region.

He also expressed his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack in Kashmir.

On Tuesday, gunmen opened fire on tourists in India's Jammu and Kashmir region, killing at least 26 people.

The attack occurred in Pahalgam, a well-known town that has seen a tourism boom in recent years, especially during the summer months, due to a decline in violence.

It marks the deadliest civilian attack in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Moreover, FM Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity with India and its complete rejection of all forms of extremism and terrorism.

Both ministers also affirmed their keenness to continue joint efforts to support the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries in various fields, serving the interests of both peoples.

For his part, Jaishankar thanked President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for calling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to offer condolences over the attack.

During his call with the Pakistani foreign minister, Abdelatty stressed the need to restore calm to avoid slipping the region into further conflicts.

Both top diplomats also expressed their countries' commitment to strengthening ties through expanded cooperation in various fields.
