President El-Sisi said this during a meeting in Cairo with László Kövér, the speaker of the Hungarian Parliament.
During the meeting, the president reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to end the Israeli war in Gaza.
El-Sisi also stressed the urgent need for sufficient humanitarian aid to enter the strip to alleviate the dire conditions endured by the Palestinians.
For his part, the Hungarian official expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt's crucial role in maintaining security and stability in the Middle East.
Bilateral ties
President El-Sisi highlighted the strong strategic partnership between Egypt and Hungary.
He also emphasized both countries' mutual commitment to advancing this partnership across various sectors, including parliamentary cooperation, in a way that serves their shared interests.
Moreover, the Egyptian president stressed the critical role of the Egyptian and Hungarian parliaments in fostering dialogue and coordination on issues of mutual concern.
"This cooperation is key to supporting efforts aimed at achieving mutual interests, particularly in strengthening economic ties," he stressed.
President El-Sisi also acknowledged Hungary’s continued support for Egypt within European Union institutions, praising the ongoing coordination and understanding between the two leaderships.
For his part, Kövér reiterated Hungary’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Egypt across various levels.
“Egypt is a vital partner for Hungary and the European Union in the Middle East,” he expressed.
Kövér further praised Egypt’s central role in addressing regional challenges that impact European security, particularly its efforts to restore calm in the region, prevent conflict escalation, and combat illegal immigration and terrorism.
According to the presidential statement, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafy El-Gebaly also attended the meeting.
