On Saturday evening, at least 11 people were killed and dozens of others injured when a suspect drove an SUV into a crowd at a Filipino community festival in Vancouver, western Canada, the Canadian authorities reported Sunday.
The 30-year-old suspect, a man with a history of mental health issues, was arrested at the scene.
The police said they are "confident" it was not an act of terrorism.
The incident occurred two days before Canada holds its federal elections on Monday.
