The win cemented the visitors’ position at the top of the league table with 47 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Ahly, who will face Petrojet later on Wednesday.

Pyramids FC were the better side in the first half, but they were unfortunate to see Mostafa Fathi and Tarek Alaa’s efforts hit the bar in the 34th and 39th minutes, respectively.

Veteran defender Ali Gabr opened the scoring just before the break, sending the leaders into the locker rooms with a 1-0 advantage.

In the second half, Pyramids FC adopted a slower rhythm, content to hold onto their slim lead.

However, they were punished in the 76th minute when Abdel-Rahman Gouda executed a brilliant bicycle kick to level the score.

Fiston Mayele then rescued his side, capitalizing on a critical error from Harras El-Hodoud midfielder Mohamed Farouk to score from inside the area, netting his seventh league goal of the season.

This victory marked Pyramids FC's first win in the playoffs, following two draws against Masry (0-0) and Ahly (1-1).

Pyramids FC will visit Pharco in Alexandria on Sunday.
