Egypt, Greece, Cyprus joint efforts key to achieving regional peace: FM Abdelatty

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty emphasised the importance of joint efforts to achieve regional security and stability in two separate calls on Wednesday with his Cypriot and Greek counterparts, Constantinos Kombos and Giorgos Gerapetritis.

Abdelatty discussed ongoing coordination and regional and international issues of mutual concern with Kombos and Gerapetritis, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. 

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty praised the strong and distinctive ties between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece and their collaboration.

He expressed eagerness to develop political, economic, trade, and investment relations further based on the three countries' deep historical ties.

The Egyptian FM also commended Cyprus and Greece's support for Egypt in international forums, including within European Union institutions.

During his call with the Cypriot FM, Abdelatty explored ways to expand cooperation in employing Egyptian workers in Cyprus.

On the other hand, the Egyptian and Greek foreign ministers highlighted Greece's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2025–2026 and its role in promoting regional stability and international security.
