The trial's date is yet to be determined.

Al Arabiya news website reported that authorities in Kyrgyzstan detained four Egyptian students and referred them to trial after they were involved in a fight with a local young man.

No further information is available about the reason for the fight between the two sides.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the embassy in Kazakhstan, which handles non-resident diplomatic representation in Kyrgyzstan, contacted Kyrgyz authorities to check the students' well-being and ensure their legal rights.

Since it became aware of the incident, the Egyptian Embassy in Kazakhstan has maintained regular contact with the families of the detained students to keep them updated on developments, read the statement.

The foreign ministry added that the Egyptian Embassy in Kazakhstan sent an official memorandum to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs requesting updates on the detained students' case and the date set for their trial. The embassy, the statement continued, also asked that the students' families be regularly informed of developments on the case and that the authorities facilitate telephone communication between the students and the embassy.
