The verdict is a first sentence and can be appealed.

The court also referred the civil lawsuit to the relevant court.

The incident took place on 30 August 2024, when the two defendants ordered large quantities of alcoholic drinks for themselves and their family members at the Mövenpick Hotel in Taba.

When asked to pay, they falsely claimed that their booking included all food and beverages, which was not the case.

When hotel staff insisted on payment, the defendants assaulted the workers—Ali Mohamed Ali, Maher El-Sayed, and Mostafa Atiya Mahmoud—using a wooden stick, a heavy piece of aluminium, and even smashed alcohol bottles.

The attack left the victims with serious injuries.

Hotel management immediately alerted Taba police and the Tourism and Antiquities Police, who quickly responded to the scene.

Security investigations revealed that the assailants, both Israeli citizens, were staying at the hotel and had ordered large quantities of alcohol.

A check with hotel records confirmed their reservation excluded alcoholic beverages.

The investigation also verified that the two Israelis attacked staff members and caused extensive property damage, shattering glassware and breaking chairs, with total damages estimated at EGP 35,000.

The injured were transferred to Taba Central Hospital for treatment.

One victim, Ali Mohamed Youssef, sustained a fractured skull with a depressed bone segment on the left side, leading to persistent dizziness and imbalance, with a disability rate of 40 percent. The other two victims suffered head, eyebrow, and neck injuries requiring over 21 days of medical treatment.

During questioning, the defendants confessed to the assault, attributing it to a dispute over the cost of the drinks.

Ali Mohamed Youssef confirmed in court on Saturday the attack and presented medical reports proving his lasting disability and inability to continue working due to ongoing dizziness and difficulty standing.
