Speaking to Action with Walid on MBC Action, Gomes rejected speculation about a possible switch, insisting his focus remains firmly with his current club.

“I’m under contract with Al-Fateh. I respect Al-Fateh. My focus is completely here,” he said. “I’m not thinking about anything else—my heart, body, and soul are with Al-Fateh.”

Gomes, who previously guided Egypt’s Zamalek to the 2023–24 CAF Confederation Cup and the 2024 CAF Super Cup, has been the subject of regional interest following his recent successes.

Still, he was quick to shut down talk of a move. “In football, anything can happen, but I’m not thinking about that. I’m only focused on helping Al-Fateh achieve our targets—nothing more.”

Ahly is hunting for a new head coach following Marcel Koller's departure.

With the FIFA Club World Cup approaching, the club faces mounting pressure to secure a replacement and prepare for the high-profile tournament.
