After dropping six points in their last two matches, Pyramids have slipped from the top of the table to second place on 47 points, two behind reigning champions Ahly.

With three matches remaining, Zamalek sit third on 41 points and are chasing a CAF Champions League berth by finishing second.

Both sides head into the match under pressure after poor results in the championship play-offs. Pyramids suffered shock defeats to Pharco FC (3-2) and NBE Club (4-2), while Zamalek were held to three consecutive draws.

Tuesday’s match will be the second in charge for Pyramids caretaker coach Ayman El-Ramady, who began his mission with a 2-2 draw against Ceramica Cleopatra on Friday.

Mahmoud “Shikabala” Abdel-Razek, full back Ahmed Fatouh and midfielder Mohamed Shehata will be available on Tuesday.

Pyramids, meanwhile, will be without classy striker Fiston Mayele, who is suspended.

The Congolese forward has scored seven goals this season and has been a focal point of their attack.

In his absence, Pyramids will look to Ibrahim Adel, and Marawan Hamdi as attacking duo Ramadan Sobhi and Mostafa Fathi is doubtful for the game.
