The Egyptian statement comes in response to the ongoing unrest in Libya, following the violent clashes that erupted between rival armed groups in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, on Monday.
Egypt expressed deep concern about the current developments in Libya, particularly the armed clashes in Tripoli and their potential to escalate further, endangering the lives and resources of the Libyan people.
Moreover, Cairo urged all Libyan parties to prioritize the national interest, end the ongoing escalation, and resort to reason and dialogue to safeguard the country's resources.
"Egyptians in Libya should keep in contact with the Egyptian embassy in Tripoli if any incidents that may affect them occur," the ministry stated.
It also revealed that it dedicated a phone number for this purpose: 00218914897985.
Libya has been unstable since the ousting of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
Despite periods of relative calm, occasional clashes have occurred between armed groups, hindering efforts toward lasting peace.
