On Friday, the EMA predicted extremely hot weather in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the northwestern coast, and Upper Egypt. Hot conditions will also prevail along the northeastern coast and in South Sinai.
In contrast, moderate weather is forecast across most areas at nighttime.
Intermittent wind activity is expected in parts of western Egypt and southern Upper Egypt.
According to the EMA, the temperature in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta will reach 37°C. In Northern Upper Egypt, the EMA predicted temperatures will reach 38°C and 42°C in Southern Upper Egypt.
Extremely hot conditions will continue on Saturday in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the northeastern coast, South Sinai, and Upper Egypt.
The northwestern coast will experience hot weather.
Winds may stir up sand and dust intermittently in areas including Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the western coast, the Western Desert, and southern parts of the country, especially in exposed areas.
The temperature is expected to reach 40°C in Greater Cairo. Meanwhile, high temperatures will reach 43°C in Northern Upper Egypt and 45°C in Southern Upper Egypt.
On Sunday, Cairo and Egypt’s Delta will see highs of 35°C and lows of 22°C.
The weather is expected to be more clement on Sunday in the northern coasts, with high temperatures reaching 25°C and lows 18°C.
The EMA advised citizens to take necessary precautions against heat stress, especially during peak afternoon hours. It urged them to stay tuned for further updates from the Meteorological Authority.
