Egypt strongly condemned the continued Israeli attacks against innocent, unarmed Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, including the bombing of civilian and medical facilities, which resulted in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians on Thursday.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Egypt warned of the grave consequences of these actions, which it described as the primary reason for the ongoing absence of security and stability in the Middle East.

The foreign ministry held Israel fully responsible for the consequences of its repeated violations of the most basic principles of international humanitarian law.

On Thursday, Palestinian rescuers reported that more than 120 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip.

This capped a bloody week in Gaza in which Israeli airstrikes killed and wounded hundreds of Palestinians in relentless strikes on the strip.

On 18 March, Israel unilaterally ended a two-month truce in the Gaza war with Hamas, resuming its genocidal war on the strip, which killed and wounded 170,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Since 2 March, Israel has blocked the entry of food, water, and medicine to Gaza, leaving more than two million Palestinians in the strip on the brink of starvation.

In its statement, the foreign ministry called on the international community to confront the ongoing injustice faced by the Palestinian people under occupation.

It stressed that this reality stands in stark contradiction to the core objectives and values of humanity.

Egypt urged the urgent implementation of mechanisms to protect the Palestinian people, support their resilience, and restore their legitimate rights—steps it said are essential to preserving the credibility of the rules-based international order and preventing its collapse.

For weeks, Israel has refused to heed repeated mediation attempts by Egypt and Qatar to restore the Gaza ceasefire and allow for the entry of humanitarian aid to the strip.
