Men's World No. 2 Ali Farag will meet top-ranked Mostafa Asal in the final, while women's World No. 2 Nour El-Sherbini faces World No. 3 Hania El-Hammamy.
Farag, a four-time world champion, eased past defending champion Diego Elias of Peru 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-5) in the semi-finals to reach his fifth PSA World Championships final.
Asal, chasing his first world title, booked his second consecutive final appearance with a commanding 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 11-4) win over New Zealand’s Paul Coll.
“I’ll take it smoothly. If the title comes tomorrow, that’s a bonus,” Asal said.
“I’m really happy to be in the final. I’m the current World No. 1, but we’re also playing for that ranking. It’s always an honour to face Ali [Farag]. It’s one more,” he added.
Sunday’s clash will mark the sixth meeting between Asal and Farag in a tournament final, with Asal holding a 4-1 edge in their previous encounters.
In the women’s event, El-Hammamy reached her first PSA World Championships final with a 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-6) victory over long-time rival Nouran Gohar.
In tandem, El-Sherbini, a seven-time world champion, held off a spirited challenge from the United States’ Olivia Weaver, winning 3-2 (11-1, 7-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-4) to reach her 10th straight final.
