FC Nantes and Le Havre, which strongly battled for survival this season, officially avoided being relegated to a lower division in the prestigious competition, which ended on Saturday.
French giants PSG secured their fourth successive Ligue 1 title this season, ending the competition with 84 points from 34 games.
FC Nantes came in 13th place with 36 points, whereas Le Havre ended in 15th place with 34 points.
Kouka, the 32-year-old Egyptian international who joined Le Havre last January from Portuguese side Rio Ave, found his new team struggling at the bottom of the table, but things improved with time.
Since his arrival, Kouka has made 16 league appearances for the team, netting three goals, including two crucial ones, in two decisive games against Lens and Monaco.
On Saturday, the final day of the league against Strasburg, Kouka came off the bench in the 63rd minute to score for Le Havre, but VAR disallowed the goal, ending the game in a 2-3 win for his team.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Mohamed, who has spent his third season with FC Nantes since coming from Turkey’s Galatasaray in 2023, also faced a battle with his team till the last minute of the season to remain in the top flight.
Nantes delivered a series of poor results this season, leaving them in a must-win situation against Montpellier on Saturday to avoid relegation. The team cleverly managed to secure a 3-0 win to ensure their safety.
Mohamed, who scored five league goals in 30 appearances this season, missed the Montpellier game as he always boycotts games coinciding with the league's annual anti-homophobia campaign.
Since joining the team, Mohamed has scored 25 goals in 112 appearances for Nantes across all competitions.
His last league goal was 18 April in the 2-1 win over Stade Rennais.
