The victims were waiting to board the SCAT Airlines flight (DV 2570) to Astana when the structure suddenly fell.
The injured passengers were rushed to Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital.
Despite immediate medical intervention, one of the women later died from her injuries. The condition of the other two passengers has since stabilised.
Following the incident, senior officials were dispatched to oversee the situation, ensure passenger safety, and provide all needed assistance.
The affected flight was allowed to depart after completing all necessary safety and technical checks.
However, the injured women were exempted from travel and provided with hotel accommodation to continue receiving medical care.
Accommodation was also arranged for the deceased passenger’s son while relevant coordination procedures are underway with the Kazakh embassy.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the tragic incident.
The Public Prosecution has launched an official investigation to determine the cause of the collapse and identify any responsible parties.
