Sunshine Stars striker Ajani Ibrahim has vowed to surprise Egyptian giants Ahly when they host them on Saturday in the first leg of CAF Champions League semifinal.
"I have a surprise package for people on Saturday... I've had my mind on the tie for a long time. I've been training and I'm hopeful things will turn out positive for me,” Ibrahim told Supersport.com.
The Agagu Boys qualified for the semifinal after finishing second in Group A behind defending champion Esperance de Tunis.
"People are still worried that I'm not hitting back of the net, I appreciate their worries, I've scored two goals so far.
"God can still make me a hero and take me to the point people envisaged for me. We've got four games, it's still possible I will hit the mark," he added.
Amid continuing problems due to the postponement of domestic competitions since February’s Port Said stadium disaster, Ahly, who are bidding to win a seventh continental title, will travel to Nigeria on Thursday.
"Football is not about names but commitment and determination which are our driving force.
"Ahly are a big side but not different from other teams that fell by the way side; they've got more experienced players than us but with commitment we'll survive their onslaught.
"We resumed full training on Monday as nobody wants to let Nigerians down.
"We've our names, too, to protect, so we're battle ready to pick a convincing win against Ahly.
"We want to win well to make the second fixture in Egypt a lot easier," he said.
