He also reaffirmed Cairo's commitment to supporting development in Nile Basin countries, referencing launching a $100 million Egyptian fund to finance infrastructure projects in southern Nile Basin states.
Moreover, he stressed Egypt’s adherence to international law in managing Nile water governance, particularly the principles of no harm, prior notification, and consensus.
Abdelatty also praised the strong bilateral relations between Egypt and the DRC in recent years, expressing a desire to deepen cooperation across various sectors through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) and the Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA).
The meeting touched on regional developments, where Abdelatty welcomed the 25 April signing of the Declaration of Principles between the DRC and Rwanda in Washington.
Egypt's top diplomat affirmed Cairo’s support for all ongoing mediation efforts to achieve a comprehensive political settlement and defuse tensions.
He further expressed Egypt’s readiness to assist with any future arrangements that help restore trust and promote peace and development between the two countries.
Meeting with Rwandan counterpart
Abdelatty also met with Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, on the sidelines of the EU-AU Ministerial Meeting.
During their meeting, Abdelatty welcomed the land allocation for two logistical zones in both countries.

He said such a move would facilitate greater access for Egyptian companies and investments into the Rwandan market.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers discussed enhancing health and pharmaceutical industry cooperation, including completing the Magdi Yacoub Egypt-Rwanda Heart Centre project.
Abdelatty also emphasized Egypt’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Rwanda, especially in priority areas such as energy, infrastructure, logistics, trade, investment, health, agriculture, and security cooperation.
