According to a statement by the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi's comments follow a joint statement issued two days earlier by the UK, France, and Canada, in which the three countries threatened "concrete actions" against Israel if it doesn't halt its renewed offensive on Gaza and lift humanitarian aid restrictions.
The statement added that during the call, El-Sisi shared Egypt's view on the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the ongoing efforts, in coordination with Qatar and the US, to secure a ceasefire and the entry of life-saving aid.
He reiterated Egypt's categorical rejection of any attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause or displace Palestinians from their land.
Furthermore, continued the statement, El-Sisi called for international support for the Arab-Islamic plan to rebuild Gaza to be translated into tangible steps once a ceasefire is achieved.
On the other hand, the two sides also discussed bilateral relations. According to the statement, the two leaders affirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership across various sectors.
