The Egyptian side are gearing up to face South Africa’s Sundowns in the first leg of the continental showdown at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday.
Jurcic emphasized the enormity of Pyramids’ achievements, stating during the pre-match press conference on Friday, “What we’ve accomplished so far is a miracle by any measure. It’s the result of relentless hard work from the technical staff, players, and everyone involved in this project.”
Reflecting on the upcoming clash against Sundowns, he said, "This is the toughest match of my coaching career, but I have complete faith in my players' abilities to secure the title, despite the formidable opponent who have significant experience in the tournament."
Jurcic emphasized that his team are competing on all fronts, noting that in just ten days, the team will play three finals across three different competitions. "For the first time in history, a team will play a decisive match in the Egyptian league between the two legs of the Champions League final. Pyramids FC do not receive support from anyone except their management, the confidence of the players, their pride in themselves, and their ability to win titles," he adde.
The return leg will be held at Cairo’s Air Defense Stadium on Sunday, 1 June.
