Egypt Chief of Staff, Italian counterpart discuss enhancing cooperation
Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, met with Italian Defence Chief General Luciano Portolano to discuss expanding military cooperation across various fields, per a statement by the Armed Forces spokesperson on Tuesday.
During the meeting in Cairo, Lieutenant General Khalifa reaffirmed the General Command’s commitment to advancing military collaboration in ways that serve the shared interests of both nations.
He also expressed his deep appreciation for the longstanding ties between the Egyptian and Italian Armed Forces.
General Portolano, in turn, highlighted Italy’s commitment to strengthening military relations and promoting the exchange of expertise with Egypt in the coming period.
He also commended Egypt’s pivotal role in promoting security and stability across the Middle East.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Defense headquarters, was attended by several senior military officials from both countries.
