“Dear Ramadan” exhibition Czech painter Markéta Zlesáková is organised by the Czech Centres and the Czech Embassy in Cairo. The exhibition offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the artist’s latest works created during a three-month residency in Cairo. Zlesáková’s new series marks a significant shift in her artistic journey, bridging the disciplines of large-scale painting, printmaking, and textiles. Working directly on Egyptian decorative fabrics traditionally used during the holy month of Ramadan, the artist creates a dynamic dialogue between classical Islamic ornamentation and contemporary visual storytelling

The second edition of the gallery’s “Anthology” series. Anthology 2025 is as usual headlined by some of the gallery’s marquee resident talents, as well as some of our familiar guest names and features a pair of new ones that we are thrilled to be unveiling to the art loving community here in Egypt for the very first time. This collection sees an impressive assortment of mediums too, with the inclusion of various artforms spanning; sculpture, photography, fabric appliqué, mosaics, and various forms of painting. This year’s anthology gathers new works from established Safarkhan artists: Ibrahim Khatab, Ahmed Saber, Karim Abd Elmalak, Katherine Bakhoum, Neama El Sanhoury, Omar Abdel-Zaher and Tasneem El-Meshad

Margo Veillon Gallery of Modern Egyptian Art
“Witness, Scenes from the War in Sudan” by Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a compelling multimedia exhibition shedding light on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. Curated by Donna Maria Feghali in collaboration with a team of Egyptian creatives, the exhibition offers a storytelling-based experience that brings this underreported crisis to the forefront.
Through evocative photography and testimonies from individuals affected in Sudan, as well as informative artwork and an animated short film, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the complex realities on the ground. The exhibition invites viewers to witness the resilience of those impacted and the efforts to deliver medical care in the face of conflict and displacement (16 June, 10am-9pm).

“A Piece of Memory 2,” a powerful exhibition by distinguished artist and SHE CAN Programme alumna Sara Medhat, renowned for her work in sustainable art design. Following the success of her participation in the COP27 Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Medhat returns with a new collection that reflects nostalgia, memory and environmental consciousness (22 - 30 June).
