Mohamed Salah has etched his name further into Premier League history by claiming the Golden Boot for a fourth time
Egypt’s Mohamed Salah has been the talk of the football world, making huge headlines, because the Liverpool ace has won the 2024-25 Premier League Golden Boot for top goal scorer.
This is the fourth time that Salah, the Egyptian King as dubbed by the English fans, has been named the competition’s top scorer in a single campaign and the eighth occasion a Red has scooped the Golden Boot – more than any other club – with Luis Suarez in 2013-14 and Michael Owen in 1997-98 and 1998-99 the others.
Egyptians, at home and abroad, are feeling proud of their countryman’s brilliance and superb achievements.
In his 38 league appearances this season, Salah scored 29 goals to help Arne Slot’s Reds lift the title. The No 11 saw off competition from Alexander Isak (23 goals) and Erling Haaland (22) to join Thierry Henry as the only other player in Premier League history to have four Golden Boots.
Salah, the division’s fifth-highest scorer of all time, first earned the prize in his debut campaign as a Liverpool player back in 2017-18 and was then successful again in 2018-19 (shared with teammate Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) and 2021-22, shared with Son Heung-min.
During a presentation at the end of the champions’ season finale against Crystal Palace, Salah also received a second playmaker award for his league-leading 18 assists in the campaign.
