The Supreme Council of Universities approved the academic calendar during a meeting chaired by Minister Ayman Ashour at Menoufiya University.

The first semester runs from 20 September to 1 January, with exams from 3 January to 22.

A mid-year break follows from 24 January to 5 February. The second semester starts on 7 February and ends on 21 May, with final exams in May and June.

Midterm exams are scheduled for November (first semester) and April (second semester), depending on the faculty.

Admission rules for the year will remain the same as in 2024, covering students with Egyptian, Arab, and foreign certificates, technical diplomas, and Al-Azhar secondary certificates.

This comes as part of preparations for the new academic year. Earlier this month, education minister Mohamed Abdel-Latif said international schools will start their year on 7 September 2025.
