Earlier on Monday, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) held a meeting with the EPL and representatives of the participating clubs.
Following the meeting, the EPL initially issued a statement confirming the season would start on 15 August.
However, EPL President Ahmed Diab later announced a revised start date of 8 August.
Diab explained that the earlier start was aimed at giving international players sufficient preparation time ahead of the Pharaohs’ training camp in September.
Egypt’s national team will face crucial World Cup qualifiers that month against Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.
This season will feature 21 teams after the EPL decided to cancel relegation in the previous campaign.
The league will include the 18 existing top-tier clubs along with three promoted sides: Arab Contractors, Wadi Degla, and Kahraba Ismailia.
According to the EPL, the new season will follow a single-round format involving all 21 clubs.
The top seven teams will then advance to a second single round to compete for the title.
The remaining 14 teams will compete to avoid relegation, with four clubs set to drop to the second division.
The current limit of five foreign players per club, along with three under-20 foreign players, will remain unchanged despite recent calls for an increase.
Diab also told Egyptian media that a two-year transitional period has been agreed upon, after which the league will return to its standard format featuring 18 clubs.
