Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, emphasized that this service is a core component of Egypt’s integrated digital ticketing system for museums and heritage sites.
Visitors can now purchase tickets via the self-service kiosks, automated ticket counters, or the official online booking platform: www.egymonuments.com.
He added that the tourism ministry would install electronic payment machines at all open-to-visit museums and archaeological sites.
Assistant Minister for Digital Services Mohamed Shaaban confirmed that the new ticketing machines operate exclusively via electronic payments using bank cards.
He also highlighted that the broader e-ticketing system includes the Experience Egypt mobile application—available on both the Play Store and App Store—and a centralized ticketing center for travel agencies.
The e-ticketing system has been implemented at 110 museums and archaeological sites nationwide. Key sites include the Giza Pyramids Plateau, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the Citadel of Salah al-Din, Deir el-Bahari Temple, Karnak Temple, and the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, as well as Abu Simbel Temple in Aswan.
