Israeli airstrikes across Iran have killed at least 20 senior commanders, including the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, two regional sources told Reuters on Friday.

Israel’s defence ministry said the strikes had “neutralised” most of the IRGC Air Force leadership.
“The defence minister was informed that most of the Revolutionary Guard Air Force leadership was neutralised while convening at their underground headquarters,” the ministry said in a statement.
The IRGC is responsible for Iran’s airspace and oversees the country’s ballistic missile arsenal.
The deaths follow earlier Israeli strikes that separately killed IRGC chief Hossein Salami, military chief of staff Mohammad Bagheri, and nuclear scientists Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi, according to Iranian state media.
