During a phone call, Abdelatty and Araghchi addressed the serious consequences of the unjustified and irresponsible Israeli aggression on regional security and stability.

Abdelatty stressed to his Iranian counterpart Egypt's rejection and condemnation of any violation of state sovereignty and the infringement on nations' unity and territorial integrity.

Additionally, the Egyptian FM stressed the importance of de-escalating tensions and avoiding the region's slide into widespread chaos and an expanded conflict.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty also held separate phone calls with some of his Arab counterparts to discuss the repercussions of the Israeli attack on Iran.

The Egyptian FM spoke with Qatari FM Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Saudi FM Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, and Jordanian FM Ayman Safadi. He also spoke with Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh.

The calls addressed the unacceptable Israeli escalation against Iran, highlighting its profound implications for the region's stability and security and the resources of its people and countries.

They also highlighted concerns over the potential consequences of the Israeli aggression on the developments in the Palestinian cause and the need to pursue political solutions.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian and Qatari FMs discussed ongoing joint efforts, along with the US, to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, secure the release of captives and detainees, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip amid the worsening humanitarian situation.

Earlier Friday, Israel launched attacks on the Iranian capital, Tehran, targeting the country's nuclear programme. The raids resulted in the killing of at least two top Iranian military officers.

The Israeli strikes, the most significant attack Iran has faced since its 1980s war with Iraq, came amid rising tension over Iran's nuclear programme.

Egypt condemned the attacks as a blatant and extremely dangerous regional escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and a direct threat to regional and global peace and security.
