The ministry's statement came amid announcements by many countries regarding canceling their flights and temporarily closing their airspace due to the current regional situation and rising tensions following the Israeli attack on Iran.
The ministry said that maximum alert status has been activated across all Egyptian airports in anticipation of receiving transit aircraft that may be forced to reroute and make emergency landings.
Full readiness has been ensured to provide necessary technical and logistical support to affected flights.
According to the ministry, Cairo International Airport received nine aircraft from foreign airlines within a short time frame for refueling after their flight paths were altered.
All planes departed safely and promptly after receiving the necessary support.
Sharm El Sheikh International Airport also received several rerouted flights after five Jordanian airlines changed their aircraft destinations to land there.
In coordination with the operating airlines, the airport administration ensured that passengers were treated appropriately until the situation stabilized and their flights resumed.
As a precautionary safety measure, some flights to Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon were suspended pending the reopening of their airspace.
In this regard, EgyptAir announced the cancellation of three flights to Amman, Baghdad, and Beirut until further notice.
Air Cairo also announced the postponement of its flights from Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Borg El Arab, and Assiut airports to Amman until Jordanian airspace reopens and regular operations resume.
Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El Hefny conducted a field tour to inspect key operational facilities, ensuring their readiness to handle any emergency developments and the continued smooth operation of services.
The ministry affirmed it is closely monitoring the evolving situation around the clock through central operations rooms and maintains full coordination with neighbouring civil aviation authorities and relevant local and international bodies.
Earlier Friday, Israel launched attacks on the Iranian capital, Tehran, targeting the country's nuclear programme. The raids resulted in the killing of at least two top Iranian military officers.
The Israeli strikes, the most significant attack Iran has faced since its 1980s war with Iraq, came amid rising tension over Iran's nuclear programme.
Egypt condemned the attacks as a blatant and extremely dangerous regional escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and a direct threat to regional and global peace and security.
