"Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. "We will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings now taking place."
He added, "I do a lot and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK; the PEOPLE understand. " He ended the post with, "MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!"
The conflict between Iran and Israel escalated sharply over the weekend. Iran launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles in "Operation True Promise II," hitting cities including Rishon Lezion, Bat Yam, and Tamra.
The attacks killed at least 13 people and injured more than 300. Iranian officials said the missiles targeted the Israeli military and fuel infrastructure.
Israel responded with continued airstrikes under Operation Rising Lion, targeting locations inside Iran for the third consecutive day. Strikes hit sites in Tehran, including Defense Ministry offices, oil and gas infrastructure, and residential areas.
Iranian authorities reported at least 138 deaths since Friday, including 60 on Saturday.
Half of the victims were children, according to Iranian media.
