The new company's operational phases will start soon with a three-month trial operation in Alexandria and the North Coast.

Then, within 18 months of the trial phase, it will expand to Cairo, Delta cities, Upper Egypt, and tourist areas.

The company will invest around EGP 400 million in its first year of operation. It aims to reach 425,000 active passengers within two years and create more than 10,000 driving jobs by the end of the second year.

Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir attended the signing ceremony.

During the ceremony, the new company revealed 600 registered vehicles ready to operate in Alexandria and the North Coast.

The Ministry of Transport said the company plans to expand its fleet to 100,000 vehicles operating under its system across various governorates in Egypt.

It added that Rehla Rides would offer a modern and safe smart mobility experience through its integrated transport services app, Arrw, available on Google Play and the App Store.

The information technology-based transport solution includes a passenger application that allows users to request rides, track their trips, and make seamless electronic payments.

It also includes a driver application that ensures high levels of discipline and real-time communication with support centres and an intelligent monitoring dashboard that enables 24/7 oversight of service quality and performance.

El-Wazir described the signing as part of the state’s efforts to encourage and maximize Egyptian companies' role in the innovative transport sector by providing safe, easy, and competitively priced transport solutions and services that meet the needs of all segments of society.

The LTRA was established in 2019 to replace the General Authority for Roads, Bridges, and Land Transport.

It is responsible for all components of the land transport system, including transport operators, drivers, land transport vehicles (including newly developed ones), and the safety and security of passengers and goods.

The LTRA is also tasked with supervising the implementation of international and regional agreements, maximizing the returns from the national fleet, and enhancing its competitiveness and capacity to transport Egyptian exports to foreign markets.
