Egypt's Ministry of Transport said on Monday that the Arab Bridge Maritime Company continues to operate regular ferry services between Jordan and Egypt despite rising regional tensions.

The service has become a key alternative for travellers affected by widespread flight cancellations across the Middle East following escalating regional tensions following Israel's Friday strike on Iran.

According to the ministry, the company runs daily crossings on the Aqaba–Nuweiba (2.5 hours) and Aqaba–Taba (30 minutes) routes, maintaining full service and maritime safety standards.

Over the past three days, more than 10,000 passengers have used the service.

Arab Bridge Maritime, founded in 1985 as a joint venture between Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, is the primary sea link between the two countries and a transit point between Africa and Asia.

From Nuweiba, passengers can travel by road to Sharm El-Sheikh (approximately two hours) and connect to international flights via Sharm El-Sheikh or Cairo airports.

The ferry line is especially popular among students, tourists, pilgrims, and business travellers seeking alternatives to air travel.

Bookings are available both online and through authorized offices in Egypt and Jordan.

The ministry highlighted the affordability of fares and the flexibility of the service, particularly as regional airlines adjust or suspend flights.

On Sunday, EgyptAir announced the suspension of routes to Beirut, Amman, Baghdad, and Erbil due to the growing security risks.
