According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request came during a phone call between Lipavský and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty on Monday, 16 June.

The two ministers also discussed the rapidly unfolding developments in the Middle East, especially the crisis in Gaza and Egypt’s sustained efforts to secure a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

Meanwhile, Abdelatty warned of the grave risks posed by the escalating military confrontation between Israel and Iran. He stressed the urgent need to de-escalate and contain the situation to prevent the region from slipping into more chaos.

The foreign minister also praised the progress in bilateral ties between Egypt and the Czech Republic over recent years, highlighting the importance of enhancing economic, trade, and investment collaboration.

Furthermore, he expressed Egypt’s interest in seeing more Czech investments and commended the steadily increasing tourism exchange between the two countries.

For his part, Lipavský expressed his appreciation for the increasingly growing Czech-Egyptian relations, highlighting his country’s desire to deepen cooperation in various sectors.

The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced via social platform X that the country will dispatch a repatriation flight on Monday to evacuate its citizens from Israel.

Citizens wishing to board the flight must register with the Czech embassy in Tel Aviv.

The ministry also updated its travel advisories, urging citizens to avoid travel to Israel amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.

Lebanon and Jordan were also newly added to the list of high-risk destinations.

On Friday, Czech nationals were strongly advised to leave Iran immediately.

According to Czech media reports, approximately 144 Czech citizens are currently in Israel, 50 in Jordan, 55 in Lebanon, and two in Iran.

The ministry estimates that several hundred Czech nationals reside in Israel on a long-term basis.
