State television cited judicial authorities as saying that a spy for Israel was arrested in the western province of Hamadan, adding that the "spy is a citizen of a European country", without elaborating.

"The spy entered the country disguised as a tourist and continued the mission of networking, gathering information, and disrupting offensive and missile systems in Iran," it added.

Fighting between Iran and Israel erupted on June 13 after Israel launched devastating strikes on the Islamic republic.

Iran has since vowed swift trials for people arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Israel.

Iranian media has reported multiple arrests of individuals accused of spying for Israel in several parts of Iran.

Authorities have meanwhile announced the execution of several people convicted of collaborating with Israel's spy agency, the Mossad.

On Friday, media reported that another European national was arrested on suspicion of espionage.

Mehr news agency later that day published a video saying the Revolutionary Guards took in custody a German national in Markazi province, west of Tehran.

It said he was suspected of being "a spy who had entered Iran disguised as a tourist".

He was also accused of approaching an "ammunition depot, an army barracks, missile tunnels and an air base to get information from them".
